We have over 75 roses in our gardens,
and most come from T&T Seeds.
My Uncle Jerry Twomey,
is a rose breeder who lives in San Diego,
and has developed
some
of the roses T&T sell, and I now have.
He has won many National
Rose awards,
well deserved from what I have seen.
He was born in Camrose AB
and breeds his roses for hardiness
and disease resistance first.
We have approx 3/4 of an
acre
to keep weeded and planted,
which takes a lot of our time.
The
back of our lot
overlooks the Skeena River and Ferry Island.
We have
a picnic site at the river edge
which we enjoy throughout the year.
I enjoy walks at the river edge,
watching all the wildlife that passes by.
I've had close encounters with moose,
a bear, Merganser Ducks, Ravens,
Bald Eagles, Seals, Fox, Short Eared Owls,
Many Squirrels, and more...
My husband calls me Mrs Doolittle!
The sound you heard on page opening
was the Common Merganser.
