 IN THE NEUDORF AREA

IN FRONT OF THE ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH
IS THIS CAIRN
IT READS
"ZION CHURCH, THE FIRST LUTHERAN
CONGREGATION IN THIS DITRICT,
WAS ORGANIZED IN 1892, THE FIRST
SERVICES HAD BEEN HELD IN A
SOD SHACK, ON JULY 23, 1890, WHEN
PASTOR SCHMIEDER OF EDENWOLD
VISITED THE AREA. FOR THE NEXT
TWO YEARS LAY-READING SERVICES
WERE HELD REGULARLY UNTIL
PASTOR STREICH CAME AS THE FIRST
RESIDENT PASTOR IN 1892.

THE PRESENT CHURCH BUILDING
WAS DEDICATED TO THE GLORY OF
GOD ON JUNE 12, 1898, IN 1964,
THE CONGREGATION DISBANDED AND
MERGED WITH CHRIST LUTHERAN
CONGREGATION IN NEUDORF."
THIS CAIRN WAS ERECTED IN 1966
A MEMORIAL SERVICE IS HELD EACH YEAR
IN JUNE AT THIS SPOT
