			Ellison BC aka:

Sealy-Sealey-Seeley Note- this is NOT the history of Ellison in
			the Okanagan area.
			The area called
			Ellison, was near
South Hazelton. The reason it wasn't chosen as a Townsite,
 and Station for the GTPR?
 It was on a curve,
and also the grade was too high for a station.
It also ran alongside a 240 ft hill.

			It was
1 mile south of lot 851, where South Hazelton was developed.
Those that bought lots at Ellison were given lots at South Hazelton,
but they had to abandon the Ellison Townsite.
Ellison Townsite was on Lot 699, see map below
It was owned by a Victoria Syndicate in 1909.
They sold their interests to GTPR's land Department in 1909

Ad in paper 1911- For Reservations of lots in
Ellison. Write or wireArthur J. W. Bridgman, Victoria B.C.,
			Jeremiah H. Kugler, Prince Rupert. B. C.
or the Land Commissioner, GTPR, Co.., Winnipeg.
Inside lots $250 ea, corner lots $350 ea.

Surveyed, planned, some Lots sold, and then all abandoned

There were also lots offered in an addition to
			this townsite, called Rogers Addition

I thought Ellison was not the same place as Sealeyvilleuntil I found a 1941 booklet,
 which states Ellison was
			also called Sealy.
 Sealy-Sealey-Seeley

Lots in Ellison were sold bythe Canadian American Realty Co. Ltd.
Suite 302, Times Building, Victoria BC, in 1911

The area was visited by Mr. G. U. Ryleythe Land Commissioner of the GTPR
who realized lots were sold here for 2 years,
in a place that was not fit for a station.
He then went on to purchase the area that became South Hazelton.

Mr. Price Ellison was a member of the BC
Legislature in 1899from East Yale. One time Minister of Finance, and of Agriculture.
Aug 1910 he was Minister of Crown Lands.
It is believed Ellison was named after him
