His father founded the St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church
on Mayne Island, BC, in 1897.
He came from England with his family in 1889.
William was the son of Thomas Hy Paddon, the Vicar of Wycombe,
b- ca 1807, Fareham, Hampshire, England
and his wife- Anne Paddon, nee ?

b- 1880 in Montreal
d- 1954
daughter of Henry Evans and Elizabeth Wilcocks of Exton, Devonshire

married 2nd- Ella Lena Alma Foerstel
b- Oct 14, 1902 in Walthamstow, Essex, England
d- Aug 13, 1991 in Victoria BC, age 88
daughter of Friedrich Gustav Foerstel, a barber in Calgary in 1916
and Lydia Sarah Elder
She graduated as a nurse in 1924 from Calgary General Hospital,
and was an assistant operating room supervisor there.
ca 1935 she was appointed anaesthetist on the staff
of St. Luke's Hospital, in Tokyo Japan.
Obviously she there when war broke out.
Ella was in the Santo Tomas Internment camp in the Philippines.

 Wadham enlisted in WWI, May 5, 1918 at Seaford, Sussex

After the war he left Witley Camp, Surrey England,
Arrived Aug 23, 1919 at Halifax, on Belgic

While living in Gosport England Wadham took out a US patent
on a Sleigh Carrier, filed Apr 14, 1919
patented May 11, 1920
 


I know there was a store, and a school in the Quick area.
The Paddon's store held the Post Office as well.

School teacher in Jan 1923 a Miss Allen.

Early Jan 1923, A Mr. Bruff of the B&B gang
erected the catch post or mail crane
for the mail delivery to the area.

The Quick Bridge was finished in the winter of 1921/22

located not far from Highway 16
